Christa’s Year of Weekly Giveaways #28 – Win a Copy of EQ7!

This week’s prize is perhaps the biggest giveaway that has ever been sponsored! Thanks to the folks at Electric Quilt for offering such a generous prize, and for featuring me on their blog today.

One lucky blog reader is going to win a brand-spankin’ new copy of EQ7! How cool is that?

Electric Quilt Software

When I approached the gals at Electric Quilt about some of my design ideas (thanks to the encouragement received from a Sewing Summit Seminar), they were immediately interested in working with me to promote their brand through my blog. Since I only mention products I personally use and love, this seamed like a natural fit.

In fact, you can read my previous EQ posts this week here, and here.

So here’s how to enter the giveaway – easy peasy!

  • Just leave a comment on this post letting me know if you’ve ever designed your own quilts, or if you prefer to use other people’s patterns. (Or maybe you do both?)
  • Contest is open to everyone, near and far.
  • Winner will be chosen at random, thanks to
  • Comments are open through Wednesday, October 23rd at 3PM Pacific Time.

This giveaway is for a standard PC version of the software. However, here’s really good news for Mac owners out there (myself included): they are working on a Mac version of the software to be released by the end of the year. You asked – they listened!

EQYou can also find fabulous free downloads over on the Do You EQ? community site. I’ve been using Electric Quilt Software for years and just realized that they have a blog devoted to EQ users. I guess I should have known – there’s a blog for everything, right?

Quero ganhar o EQ7 completo. Ele é uma ótima ferramenta para produzir projetos de patchwork e quilt.

I have never designed my own quilts. I’m not quite confident enough. I’ve tried to draw on grid paper, but it seemed too difficult.

Hopefully I’ve squeaked in under the wire! I have magazines and books and love to look at others’ quilts during Show and Tell but usually end up making my own design. I have used Block Base before for the pattern sizing and to look at their quick quilts diagram but I am looking for another way to lay out my quilts other than my queen sized bed! At least using EQ might keep my blocks cat free.
