I have a fabric confession to make.
I don’t use my scraps.
Oh no – someone call the fabric police!! Seriously, I have tried. In my nearly 20 years of sewing, I’ve accumulated tons of bits and pieces and spent several years cutting them into neatly organized piles of strips, triangles, squares etc. And then they sat around for a few more years until I finally gave them away in the big fabric destash of 2013.
Now that I’m quilting on a more regular basis, the scraps are starting to pile up again. What’s an organized quilter to do? Give them away of course!
One lucky blog reader will win my current batch of scraps. It includes cuttings from my Riley Blake/MQG challenge, leftovers from the Vintage Quilt Revival blog hop, and a special quilt that will be revealed later this spring (you can barely see some chunks of green, grey and white peeking out).
I can’t tell you how liberating it will feel to send these pieces to one of you! And who knows? At this rate I may have to do this type of giveaway on a regular basis!
To enter, leave your comment below telling me what you like to do with your scraps. :-) One winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday, January 29th at noon my time.
Last Week’s Winner
Congratulations to Joy (Be-Joyful) for winning the DVD series Why Quilts Matter. Here was Joy’s thoughtful comment:
Yesterday would have been my grandmother’s 100th birthday. Because she passed away years ago, wrapping up in one of her quilts is like a hug from heaven. Grandma’s family came from Kentucky so I’m anxious to watch the entire documentary.
