I’m so darn pleased with all of you that are following along, sewing along, or simply dreaming along.
I wanted to share a few more in progress works for those of you who haven’t made it over to flickr yet. If you like what you see here, there’s plenty more of that over at Christa’s Quilt Along (my flickr group).
Connie M. picked out about 10 different solid fabrics from her stash for her pearls, surrounded them with a wonderful eggplant color for the strings, and used a background of pale blue. I love it!
Betty C. is an eager beaver and she already quilted hers! I love how she quilted straight lines to represent the strings rather than piecing them with fabric. It’s a good idea to start thinking about what you want to do when we begin quilting next week. Remember, this is your quilt so you can truly make it your own!
I’ve also had a few people email me who are working on some of my other free quilt patterns. (Yes you can make any of my quilt along designs whenever you want!)
My friend Pam P., who is heavily involved in making quilts for Project Linus, chose my Jolly Jelly Roll Quilt Along to make for a quick charity project. You can make a nice sized throw from just one jelly roll plus border fabric!
Her secret is to add the label to her backing after basting, but before quilting. What a brilliant idea! Click here for complete step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
I’m going to try Kelly’s method on my version of String of Pearls and if it works well, I’ll begin incorporating labeling instructions into my future quilt alongs.
