I love machine quilting and collecting lots of different colors, weights and fibers of threads. Recently I’ve decided to stock up on Aurifil as my go-to thread of choice so that means two lucky winners will get to help me destash my threads!
First up I will give one winner a bunch of spools of Superior cotton thread in a variety of colors. These are all 50 weight, 2 ply cotton which are great for piecing as well as machine quilting. I’ll even throw in the rest of my prewound cotton bobbins (since they don’t fit my new Bernina’s larger bobbin case).
The other giveaway selection is also from Superior and it’s a stack of 40 weight tri-lobal polyester threads. (It won’t be quite as many as shown below – but however many I can fit in a flat rate envelope!)
These are great for machine quilting when you really want your quilting to shine! I just have too much, so I must reduce my stash (yeah and it’s really then just an excuse to go buy more, LOL!)
This week’s question to answer is simple. Which threads would you prefer to win? The cotton or the poly? I’ll divide the answers into two categories and choose one winner at random for each. (Unfortunately, due to shipping constraints, I’ll have to choose US winners this time.)
Leave your answer below by Wednesday, January 1st at noon. I’ll select two winners at random and will email them directly. (I’ll also announce their names on my blog during next week’s giveaway.)
Good luck and here’s to a great new year!
Last Week’s Winner:
Congratulations to Jacklyn G. who won a Joel Dewberry Bungalow bundle. For those that didn’t win, there are still a few bundles left on clearance, so stock up while you can!
I would love the cotton bobbins. So, so colorful!
Definitely cotton.
poly. thanks for the giveaway
I would love to try the poly. I just found you through pintrest and really am enjoying your blog, Thanks!
I would love the cottons. Thanks for sharing your thread stash.
I love working with the Aurifil threads and would love to win them. Thanks so much for the chance. Love your machine quilting tips. Great info!
I use cotton so I would love to win cotton! Very generous of you!
I would love to win the cotton. But would still be happy to win the polyester. Thanks for sharing.
It’s definitely cotton for me. Most of my quilts are archive quality so cotton, cotton, cotton.
I would love to win the cotton thread. Thank you
Cotton please, to go with my cotton fabric. But I will be happy with either. Thanks and Happy New Year.
I would love the cotton. I am in desperate need of a restock. Thanks so much for sharing!
I’d prefer the cotton, but would be delighted to win either.
Happy New year to you.
I think that the cotton would be fantastic!!! Thanks for the opportunity!!!
I am just learning and have read a few articles and am starting Quilting made easy for beginners and I think COTTON will be my choice. Thank you for a chance to win.
Cotton for me — I would love to try Superior’s threads. Thanks for the chance. (You’ve inspired me to clean my sewing room too these past few months!)
Cotton for me! Thanks for the giveaway!!
Cotton for me!! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
Cotton for me!
I use both cotton and poly, but being forced to choose, I’d choose cotton. 😉 Thanks for a great giveaway.
I am new to quilting and use both cotton and poly threads. Have not determined a favorite yet. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂
I use both threads, poly and cotton. While I have a new Bernia 750, my daughter has an older smaller model and could use the bobbins. So I would be able to use the thread and even share the bobbins.
Oh man! What a bonanza! What if I offered to chip in for shipping to Canada? I’m having thread shortages up here in the north.
Oh Christa, this is a great giveaway and gift!
Cotton please!
And, My little Bernina would love those prewound bobbins too! I really enjoy using Superior threads, and quality quilting thread is hard to come by. I never have enough when I need it, and it’s so hard to match thread.

Thanks for the opportunity! would love the cotton bobbin threads.
Cotton bobbins, such a great giveaway!
Either one would be fine and I really don’t need any more bobbins. Maybe the poly colors would be ones I’m low on.
I’m thinking the poly would be great. Thanks for your give-a-way!!!
Would love to win some poly thread.. Thanks
Would love the cotton threads. Thanks for the chance to win!!
The polys would probably be more useful to me. These destashing giveaways are fun, Christa! Thanks and Happy New Year.
I’d like to try the colors of the cotton threads. I’ve just started quilting again after a few decades, and am loving all the improvements in supplies.
I am trying to get the hang of free motion quilting, which I have found uses a lot of thread, which gets expensive! I would love the cotton thread – thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the chance to win! I also use Aurifil almost exclusively, but would love to have a bunch of colors as mine are very limited.
That’s a great reason to destash now and restash later. Lol I like both, but have to go with the cotton threads. I love thread! It’s so pretty and there are endless number of projects just waiting in that little spool.
I usually quilt with cotton, but I’m learning to branch out and explore new methods. Cotton would be my first choice, however–if I have to make a difinitive choice.
I am so low on thread so I would be happy to win either one. But since I have to pick one I will choose the poly because I usually sew with that.
I’d love to have the Superior cottons for my piecing and machine quilting.
I definitely prefer poly, but never turn away cotton!
I would love to win the cotton thread. I do not see my post so posting again
I would love to win the cotton. Thanks for a chance to win.
Great giveaway. I prefer the cotton threads.
What a beautiful family. Thanks for your great informative blog. Love cotton thread.
Polyester is my first choice for thread. Thanks for the giveaway
What a great giveaway!! I would love to win the cotton thread. I do so enjoy you blog and have used a couple of your quilt patterns!! Thanks!
I would love to try the tri lobal poly. .thanks.
I love the cotton threads! Thanks for the give away!
I normally prefer cotton, but since I am not sure pre wound bobbins would fit in my treadles, I’ll say the poly!
I would love to try the tri lobal poly. Thanks for sharing.
