I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was able to offer another fabulous giveaway! This one is sponsored by my friends (really they are!) over at Electric Quilt. To celebrate the release of EQ7 for the Mac, they’ve generously decided to give away a copy to one of you – whoo hoo!

Don’t worry, this giveaway is actually open to everyone – if the winner is a PC owner, you can select the original version instead of the Mac version. No need to go buy a brand new computer just to run the software on (though that’s exactly what I did, LOL)! And if you prefer to have a downloadable version rather than a physical copy, that’s available, too!
Because I’m an existing EQ7 user, I only needed to get the migration kit to switch from a PC to a Mac. However, for those of you Mac users who have been patiently waiting for the stand-alone Mac version to be released, the time is now!
Here’s how to enter:
Just leave a comment below telling me if you’ve ever designed your own quilt before. Or if not, what you’d love to design if you could. This will be a short giveaway timerame, running through Monday, May 5th at 6PM Pacific time. I’ll email the winner and make an announcement on my blog next Tuesday, May 6th.
Good luck!

Wow, what a great gift! I have never designed a quilt but I would love to be able to do so and with a program like this, it would be so fun! I love doing all kinds of quilting. I love the variety! Thanks for this opportunity!
Wow! your generosity knows no bounds. I would love to get this as I am moving into custom designing quilts and fabric art.
my girls insist that I need a new computer and that apple is the way to go….my best friend swears by the EQ7 and says it is a must have for me to play with. what fun to win one, then I will be closer to buying that new computer
I’m somewhat new at designing quilts and have only done some small changes to other’s designs. Maybe this would help me to design for myself!
I usually design my own quilts because most of the time I’m trying to work with the fabrics I had purchased. There are a couple of patterns that I have followed and made more than once, but most everything else is designing as I go. Thanks for such a great giveaway!
I love to design my own quilts, but I just use paper. Would love to have EQ7. Thanks for the giveaway!
Christa, I have never owned one of these. I do a lot of charity quilts for the Muscatine Quilt Guild for Battered Women and children and local fire stations. We are always looking for new quilt designs. This would be a great asset and aid us in making quilts.
I would so love to get this program and have looked at it several times. But when I check into my bank account I don’t do it because quilting is a pass time not a living. Altho you would never know that since I am sewing everyday! It is great to be retired! I know I could do some fancy block work with this program. Love to win!! thanks.
Fantastic giveaway! Yes, I design all my own quilts. I’ve always used graph paper, but I would LOVE to use the software instead. I’ve heard it’s fantastic!
I just retired from 24 years at a computer support job (Macs) and finally have time to work full time on quilting. I have made lots of quilts but have only designed backs for these quilts! I would love to use EQ7!
I have designed my own quilts. I use the good old pencil and paper system. EQ7 would be a great help. I would love to win this but congratulations to whoever does. PS: I’m a PC-er!
I would love to try designing my own quilt. It would be great to have EQ7.
Oh wow, do I want to win this! Yes, I’ve designed my own quilts. It usually takes me forever because I color and recolor by hand, and the math is always a challenge for me. EQ7 would really, really help. Thanks for the chance to win!
I like designing my own quilts, for years with graph paper and now I use Quilt Wizard… would love EQ7
I’ve been designing my own quilts for years, and currently keep an aged Mac to run an aged “paint” app to play with my ideas. I’m glad to see EQ for Mac at last!
I’ve designed my own quilts using graph paper and my imagination! I’d love to be able to use this software, thanks for the chance!
I have designed and redesigned quilts and table runners. I rarely use a pattern the way it is. Graph paper and colored pencils are my best friends! Thanks for the chance to win a very unique product.
I design all my own quilts and have been waiting for this for a long time. Right now I use Illustrator for my work.
Hi Christa!
I’ve designed a few quilts for charity and as gifts, but the process has always been trial and error, which is why I’d love to have EQ7! Thanks for the opportunity!
Can you please take me off your comment list. I dont need to get emails everytime someone leaves you a comment. I have over 100 emails of your comments.

Unfortunately that’s not something I think I can change from my end. It’s an option you selected when you left your comment – to get follow up emails. So sorry about that!
As a new quilter I have only used patterns from other designers. I do have ideas for designs floating around in my head and EQ7 would be wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
I have designed simple quilts using 1/4″ graph paper and colored pencils. As I prepare for retirement at the end of the year, EQ would be a lot of fun to play with. Thanks for the giveaway!
I design on graph paper, so would love to win EQ. My friend owns EQ so she has designed several quilts for me.
I haven’t designed my own quilt, although I have plenty of design ideas floating around. Would LOVE to have EQ7! Have had it on my wish list for several years. Thanks!!
I’ve never designed a block myself or used any quilting software. We’re a mac family so I’m super excited for this release and would love, love, love to win a copy of the software!
Yes I have designed a few very simple block quilts, but would love to play with more options
A also design my own quilts! I like to experiment with block combinations and orientations to make secondary patterns. This software would help me experiment like I was on steroids!!
Finally! A Mac version! If I don’t design my own pattern, I try to change at least 1 or 2 things in a pattern I’m making, to put my own twist on it (of course when there aren’t “rules”!). I love my Mac
and what it can do, the EQ7 would be a definite bonus (and allow me to get more done!!!) — thank you to you and your EQ friends!
I have designed quilts because I think that is part of quilting. I want mine to be unique. I would love to go beyond the basics that my little mind can do in my head or on graph paper.
I have several quilt designs I’ve done using Quilt Wizard, the baby version of this software. I would love to win a copy of the big software!
Yes, I’ve designed with EQ, but it was probably with version 5. It was that long ago that I switched to a Mac. I’m So beyond happy that a Mac version of EQ is available. Thanks for this chance to win!
I love designing my own quilts! I would love this, because it has elements not available in Illustrator! 🙂 Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I have played around a bit with graph paper and coloured pencils…
I almost never follow a pattern to the letter, I always make some changes (sometimes on purpose) But I fly by the seat of my pants. Just rough sketches on paper and some simple math. I consider myself more of an “Artistic Quilter” than a precision quilter.
Yes, I design my quilts most of the time. I just you existing software available on my PC. I haven’t felt a need yet to move to designing software. But this would be fun opportunity win a copy and try it out myself :-). Thank you for the giveaway!
I always have these ideas in my head but hate the thought of paper and squares etc. Would just love to try on the computer. Thanks for the chance.
Yes, I have designed my own quilts. I sketch them out on graph paper and then color with colored pencils. I also frequently adapt patterns. Thank you for th chance to win.
I have never designed my own quilts, I am just starting to have confidence on picking my fabric for a quilt
I play with graph paper and markers when I have a design idea for a block, but I have yet to turn any of my designs into full size quilts. Someday! Thanks for the awesome give away!
I design my quilts with graph paper and pencil crayons- very old school! I would love to win the EQ7 for Mac as this would give me an excuse to upgrade my white MacBook to a new Pro!
I love designing my own quilts–it just gives an extra special feeling to the finished quilt knowing that I designed it myself. Sometimes, they don’t exactly turn out as I envisioned, but that’s okay! I loved the Electric Quilt program on my PC, but I don’t have it on my new Mac. I’m having withdrawals.
What a fabulous giveaway! I have designed my own quilts, but never using the EQ software. I would love to have a copy and would love to learn to use it to design quilts. I’ll really keep my fingers crossed on this one.
Fantastic giveaway!! I’m 77 and wish I’d started quilting when I was 7 instead of 67! Great fun! I’ve done a little designing of my own … kind of wonky style which is me! I’d love to do more but have been a little intimated. I would definitely enjoy and use this giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity.
I love designing my own quilts but hate the math and figuring out how much fabric to get!!
I have tried to design but not been to successful. I’ve been waiting and hoping for this software for my Mac! I hope I can win!
i have never designed my own quilt. this would be an adventure. 🙂
The closest I come to using a pattern is to make a quilt of traditional blocks, repeated. Mostly I design my own quilts, combining traditional blocks or designing my own (in so far as one can make a new arrangement of triangles and squares. I once had EQ5, but then switched to MAC.
Saying I “designed” a quilt makes it sound fancier than it was. 😉 I made a basic quilt with rows of rectangles and plain strips. I just sketched on graph paper and went from there. 🙂
I have designed my own quilts using graph paper but this would be an wonderful tool to have
Oh yes, quite a few, though I’ve used the $20 version of this software only once to make a pattern–it was SO limiting and frustrating to use though, it’s really only for the most basic, beginner or quilters I think.
Hi Christa: I have designed a few quilts including improv quilts. Having the computer program would make things a lot easier! Thanks for the chance to win!
