Happy Valentine’s Day! Have you been following along with The Splendid Sampler? The 100th and final block was released earlier in the week and to mark this tremendous milestone, there’s a huge giveaway to celebrate!

My block contribution to The Splendid Sampler – Scrappy Happy Heart
The New Book
But before I get to the giveaways, there’s some exciting to share. Although the first stage of the quilt along has wrapped up, the journey isn’t over! The Splendid Sampler book releases in April!

Click here to pre-order your copy of The Splendid Sampler.
Then in May, authors Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson will embark on phase two – encouraging new Splendid sewists to create one block a week from the book. So it’s never to late to join in – or if you started the quilt along and then set it aside to work on other things, you can re-join the fun!

Update with Winners!!!
Congrats to Leslie F. and Christine C. for winning the PDF patterns!!

As of today, Valentines Day, 2017, I have finished 52 blocks. I started out on a roll, but slowed down a little, but now I am in catch up mode and having a ball!! I have really enjoyed looking at everyone else’s blocks and gaining inspiration from them! Thanks for this opportunity — it’s been most enjoyable! 🙂
I admit that I have made zero so far, but I have downloaded them all, and there are quite a few that I really would like to make. So many projects, so little time!
Happy Valentines day❤️. I completed three, have three more cut out and have printed off thirty instructions. I know I will get back to it, right after I finish my other WIPs….
I learned that sewing itty bitty pieces to make 6 ” blocks was harder than some of the more complicated quilts that I had made previously. I also learned of the generosity of many designers. I learned these little pieces were making me a better sewer. I still have over half to finish but I will get there.
fun to have an opportunity to learn new skills
Thank you for the giveaway. I have made half of my blocks. I was keeping up but my husband got very ill and I got behind so I am looking forward to getting back to them.
I loved your scrap heart block, Christa. I have completed 98 blocks, have #99 cut and ready to sew, then it’s on to #100. Phew! Can’t believe that I almost kept up the pace.
Happy Valentine’s Day Christa! I loved the heart block you designed for the Splendid Sampler and made more than 1/2 the blocks … 51/100 … and still working at it! I learned sew much and am looking forward to continuing with phase 2 starting in May…yea! Judie
Happy Valentine’s Day, Christa! Great Project>I did not join you/too much other work! Thanks for sharing!
This is a great project. I didn’t keep up though, I am working on block #5. I am doing them in the colors of the rainbow out of my scrap boxes.
Unfortunately I have made zero. It is on my list to do this year. Too much else going on last year.
0. I started out thinking I was going to sew along, but there were too many other projects that held me captive!

I have made zero. I guess I am out of the loop in terms of knowing about this. Off to check it out now.
I have about 80 blocks finished including many of the Bonus Blocks. Got behind around Christmas and hope to get started again next month.
I made 46, but I intend to finish it. Loved the new techniques.
So far I have completed 42 and hope to finish up most in the next few months 🙂
Honestly, I have made zero to date but I have loved seeing the blocks and saved every one planning to make them soon.
I haven’t made any yet because I am trying to finish a graduation gift for my oldest grandchild who will be graduating from the University of Alabama. Then I can actually begin this sampler.
I have made may be 12 LOL
I have made 50 including a couple of bonus blocks. That is enough for the reversible wall hanging I am planning to make. I may do more at a later. i have them saved.
42 blocks! Work quilts have taken up most of my quilting time but I can’t wait to get back to it!
I’ve completed 45 so far. I’ve been following every week and downloading the patterns. I follow the Facebook group and love to see everyones blocks. Thanks for all the great tips along with way.
Zero, eek!
Arghhh I have made zero. But they are so on my list to do this year.
I kept up with the blocks and was enjoying learning new techniques when my husband suddenly and tragically died. I think I have enough blocks to make a quilt for a granddaughter’s doll and then maybe start over. I did follow along for the rest of the blocks.
I’ve completed zero, but have downloaded all of the patterns, so one day I’ll get started!
I have 32 blocks made and just finished prepping several blocks to embroider. Life got in the way.
I had great hopes of keeping up with making each and every sampler, but I made only 2. I did download all of my favorites that I hope to get to someday! Hearts are always my favorite!
I haven’t joined in on this one. But, I look forward to making your block. It’s the only one I’ve saved.
I haven’t made any, but sure do keep up on the progress of these great blocks!
I’ve made 73 blocks. I’m going to finish at 80. I’m excited to put it together.
I have made about 90 squares including some bonus blocks and some duplicates. I would like to say that your heart block has ended up being one of my favourites! I made it with “Fig and Tree” Strawberry Fields material. Thanks for the lovely block. 🙂
I have made 99 blocks – tomorrow I will make my last one….mixed emotions
I’m still at zero, but hope springs eternal!
I’ve made zero Splendid Sampler blocks but I enjoy looking at them 🙂
Happy Valentine’s day. I’m sure it will be fabulous for you. I’ve made 2 blocks.
I saved all the blocks but have not yet made any. I am in process of organizing sewing room.
Hello Christa… enjoyed your post… I have finished about 27 blocks and am working on a few more today… life happens… sickness, new grand babies… etc! But all is well. Plus today is mine & my husband’s 36th anniversary!
90
Hi Christa, I have 101 blocks made (i made one bonus block NOT realizing it wasn’t Sun or Thursday …therefore bonus)… On to the assembly and quilting!
happy Valentine’s day! I guess you are feeling better when you finished a quilt. I have been doing catch up so I have not had an opportunity to do these projects. hope I win :).
I’ve only just begun – I have 6 blocks done and two more cut and ready to sew. I think I may have too many QAL’s on the go but it’s all fun!
I have collected the blocks and I have the materials, but I haven’t started any of them yet.
I’ve only finished about 30 of the blocks, due to other quilty projects, but I DO plan on going back to make them all!
Yikes! I missed this sew-along. I must get the book and join on the second go-around, it looks like fun!
I really thought I could do this, but my life got in the way, so I’ve not completed a single block.
Happy Valentine’s Day. I have only made six blocks. I fell behind and life just happened.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Christa
I have made over 70 blocks so far. I’m definitely going to keep going to the finishing line!
I have 80 blocks completed so far It has seemed like a long time but now that is it at the end, I am glad I have a few more to do to make it last. I will miss all the sharing, the colorways and unique touches.
