Cotton Cuts Giveaway Box

Just popping in with a fun giveaway this week! I’m excited to be the featured designer in December for Cotton Cuts, a fun business that offers all sorts of fun quilty subscription boxes. As part of this fun feature they are giving me a Modern Maker box that I get to give away to one of you (located in the US).

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment letting me know which fabrics you prefer to work with: yardage or precuts. I’ll select a winner at random this Wednesday and notify them via email.

Thanks for reading and playing along!

My almost 10 year old daughter and I just start to sew, but we would love the yardage for the main color of a quilt and precuts for the different pieces.

it depends on how quickly I want to be finished. Precuts are much faster, but eliminate the design elements I love of choosing my own hearstopping fabric combos. If not for precuts, I would rarely buy a complete fabric line, just the individual fabrics that call to me. I do a lot more mixing and matching with yardage, but cutting takes time and space I don’t always have. Notice I was unable to answer the question? 😉

    Hello,

    Thank you,

Lately I have been using yardage as I don’t necessarily want to use all the fabrics in the precuts. I may go back to precuts when I find my hands want to forget about long cutting sessions.

To be honest I prefer having both on hand at all times. The variety in precuts help inspire me and using yardage to tie things together provides some continutity depending on the project. Sometimes, you just fall in love with a fabric and have to get it – yardage or precut doesnt’ matter!!!

Yardage is my go-to when sewing. I have several precuts, but I hate to break up the set if I need just one fabric. But when a pattern calls for a variety of fabrics, I’ll choose a precut bundle! duchick at gmail dot com

Yardage is so important, but pre-cuts are so fun!! But so many times pre-cuts aren’t actually the right size, & I don’t like the pinked edges. So I have to go with yardage!

I absolutely love precuts because they have so many colors and designs in the bundle which helps a newbie like me. 🙂 When it comes to deciding on that … I need all the help I can get.
