I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was able to offer another fabulous giveaway! This one is sponsored by my friends (really they are!) over at Electric Quilt. To celebrate the release of EQ7 for the Mac, they’ve generously decided to give away a copy to one of you – whoo hoo!

Don’t worry, this giveaway is actually open to everyone – if the winner is a PC owner, you can select the original version instead of the Mac version. No need to go buy a brand new computer just to run the software on (though that’s exactly what I did, LOL)! And if you prefer to have a downloadable version rather than a physical copy, that’s available, too!
Because I’m an existing EQ7 user, I only needed to get the migration kit to switch from a PC to a Mac. However, for those of you Mac users who have been patiently waiting for the stand-alone Mac version to be released, the time is now!
Here’s how to enter:
Just leave a comment below telling me if you’ve ever designed your own quilt before. Or if not, what you’d love to design if you could. This will be a short giveaway timerame, running through Monday, May 5th at 6PM Pacific time. I’ll email the winner and make an announcement on my blog next Tuesday, May 6th.
Good luck!

Yep, I have designed my own quilts, using graph paper and pencils. I would so love to give EQ7 a try, and as a loyal Mac user I have been very patient. What an incredible giveaway. Thank you for the chance to enter.
Yay! I’m a Mac user, and I’ve always wanted to give this program a try. I design my quilts in Illustrator and Photoshop. Both work pretty well, but there are definitely features that EQ7 has that would be so nice. Thanks for the chance!
I have designed my own in quilt wizard and can spend hours playing with it but I would really love having all the options of EQ7.
I have designed all but one of my quilts. My sister and I surrounded, by graph paper and colored pencils, last week said many times how nice it would be to be able to design on a computer.
I have waited for EQ to come out with a mac version! I am so excited! I’ve always wanted to do this!
I had a simple patchwork design all drawn up in excel for the first fat quarter bundle of an entire line that I ever purchased. I have an inkling that eq7 is a bit easier than excel for quilt drawing 🙂
I have designed all but one of my quilts. My sister and I just did one and surrounded by graph paper and colored pencils we said many times how nice it would be to be able to do it on computer.
I have designed 3-4 of my quilts, but very simple ones. Would love to have software to enhance that!
Oh my goodness this would be amazing to win this have been dreaming about owning it. Now I just do things on the fly which usually does not work out how I was hoping it would. Thanks for offering this up as a giveaway you are awesome !!!
I design most of the quilts I make. I would LOVE to have EQ 7 to help me.
I have designed my own but with pencil and paper. I have wanted this for ages but resisted the temptation. A little too expensive.
I have always used paper to design my quilts but EQ7 has been on my wishlist for quite some time. What a fantastic giveaway. Thanks!!
Wow what a giveaway! I have never designed a quilt, but I have also never followed a pattern exactly. it would be awesome to be able to design one!
Thanks for another great giveaway! I have designed all of my quilts but 2.. using graph paper and colored pencils. Each quilt has several designs before I commit to one. I keep EVERY design I make, even though I usually don’t recreate them.
I would love to have the EQ7. I have never designed a quilt pattern, per say. What I do when I start a new quilt, I more or less make it up as I go. One of my favorite quilting methods is paper piecing, second, would be curves. With the EQ7, I can see me coming up with my own designs using both.
I designed a quilt for my daughter who was far away in Brazil for 18 months. It was so exciting to give it to her the day she arrived home. It really got me into quilting. Would love to win this software.
I have not yet designed my own quilt but have been waiting for this mac version so I could try! Thanks for the chance.
I’m quite new to quilting but I absolutely LOVE messing around designing my own quilts. I tried drawing things out on graph paper but now I’ve switched (I’m a little embarrassed about this) to using a set of children’s coloured shape blocks that I used when I was teaching tessellation in Primary school. I’d absolutely treasure a PC version of EQ7!
I’m just finishing up a quilt that I’ve kind of designed. It’s an embedded wonky star (from a tutorial) but graduating from very dark grey up to light fro the back-ground, and from low volume prints to high volume(?) prints. I’d love this software!
I design almost all the quilts I’ve made. But usually I take an idea and build on it. I would love to win this!
I’ve been wanting EQ 7 for a long time. Crossing my fingers and toes
I’ve tried coming up with a plan for some Christmas fabric I have, on paper, needless to say not going well. Working on the computer would be so much easier.
I can’t believe this is happening! I dream in EQ7, wishing I could have the real thing for my Mac. I always “tweek” my quilt patterns just a bit to make them my own and having a program to help would be awesome! Thank you for the opportunity, and the possibility to make my dreams come true!
Yes, I do design my own quilts….on graph paper! This would be a dream come true.
I’ve made quilts without a pattern, but never sat down and drawn out a design. I’ve been wanting EQ a while and since we only have Mac computers, I’m really excited to see there’s now a version I can use without the migration kit.
I designed a couple of my own quilts (very simple designs using graph paper and color pencils). Thanks for the chance…been waiting for this to be released for the Mac!!!
I haven’t designed my own quilt yet..but my next one is a mine craft pixel quilt for my son.
I’m a mac girl too 🙂
I almost fell off my chair when I saw your giveaway for EQ7! I just restocked my graph paper which I have started using as a way to get the ideas out of my head. Using graph paper is a step up from my previous sketches on the back of envelopes or the kids’ scrap paper. The next step is to actually write the patterns!
I have “designed” a couple simple quilts but I’d love a program to help me design more. I like having an idea what they will look like prior to making the whole quilt!
I have not designed a quilt yet but would sure like to.
Ha! Yes I thought I’d be all fancy and design my own medallion quilt on paper, and the bits of it I’ve made just didn’t turn out. I’d love to be able to tinker in a program and have a better idea what things will look like!
I would love to have the Mac version of EQ7! I have designed my own quilts plenty of times; mostly simple designs with squares, rectangles, and triangles. Most of the time, they turn out just like I planned, but one was a disaster. It would have helped to have the program to help me get it right. 😊
Only on paper. I would love to win, thanks for the opportunity.
I’ve been waiting years for EQ to finally work on a Mac. YAY! I’ve been designing my own quilts for years but never tried to reproduce the patterns because it was frustrating to draw everything from scratch. I’ve also wasting more fabric than I should designing on the fly. I would LOVE to have the EQ7 for the Mac
EQ7 sounds exciting! I’ve not designed before, but as a retired math teacher I am very interested in pattern and the mathematics behind it.
Designed? Yes, with graph paper and pencil. It would be such a time saver to use EQ7. Wow, what a great giveaway. Thank you for the chance to win.
I have designed my own quilts using graph paper or by creating a paper piecing pattern. I would love to win the EQ7!! Thank you so much for the opportunity!
Ooohhhhh Christa! You are killing me!!! We just talked about how i am super-interested in getting this! I have designed my own quilts….but very impromptu….aka…what i am doing for mqg challenge right now lol….I would love to play with this software…to be able to figure yardage play with design
..anf make designs to/for my modern quilt guild
I have designed one quilt using a makeshift design wall. But my living space is tight & I would just be over the moon if I could design a quilt for my 1st granddaughter using the Electric Quilt software on my Mac . I’m computer savvy & have no problem downloading the software. What a Mothers Day gift that would be. Thank you for considering my entry.
I have never designed my own quilt but would love to do so with the help of winning th Electric Quilt competition.
I haven’t designed many quilts myself, but I don’t have space for a design wall, and it would really help me avoid surprises on block layouts if I had EQ!
I have designed blocks using graph paper. I would love the PC version. What an awesome giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win!

I have done a lot of designing and improv but I want to do more of the structured kind of designing and playing around with designs for paper-piecing. A copy of this would be great! Thanks for the chance. 🙂
I have never designed a quilt, if I could I would love to do one with applique’s of owl’s
So excited that they have finally made the Mac version! I have designed my own quilts using the ever wonderful 64 Crayola box!!! What a fun giveaway!
I did a trial design with sample. I would absolutely love the software!
I’ve never tried to design a quilt other than random piecing. I would love to design a quilt with this it sounds awesome! I’m very new but I’m not afraid to try everything when it comes to quilting, LOVE it! Thanks for the giveaway, this is huge! 🙂

I have designed my own quilt on graph paper. Would love to win!
Oh Man! Pick me, pick me! I have tried to design my own quilts – it’s quite hard to be erasing lines on graph paper, and I haven’t figured out how to get HST using a graphics program without having to commit to the colors. I’m a Mac user and downloading is fine with me! Thank you for putting my name in the hat for the drawing! : )
Is being first a good thing? I sure hope so. I would love the mac version….I design my own blocks and quilts – it is one of my favorite aspects of quilting!!
