Christa’s Giveaway – Win a Copy of EQ7 for the Mac (or PC)

I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was able to offer another fabulous giveaway! This one is sponsored by my friends (really they are!) over at Electric Quilt. To celebrate the release of EQ7 for the Mac, they’ve generously decided to give away a copy to one of you – whoo hoo!

20140425_eq7_mac

Don’t worry, this giveaway is actually open to everyone – if the winner is a PC owner, you can select the original version instead of the Mac version. No need to go buy a brand new computer just to run the software on (though that’s exactly what I did, LOL)! And if you prefer to have a downloadable version rather than a physical copy, that’s available, too!

Because I’m an existing EQ7 user, I only needed to get the migration kit to switch from a PC to a Mac. However, for those of you Mac users who have been patiently waiting for the stand-alone Mac version to be released, the time is now!

Here’s how to enter:

Just leave a comment below telling me if you’ve ever designed your own quilt before. Or if not, what you’d love to design if you could. This will be a short giveaway timerame, running through Monday, May 5th at 6PM Pacific time. I’ll email the winner and make an announcement on my blog next Tuesday, May 6th.

Good luck!

I ONLY design my own quilts. Or if I use an existing block I do all the math myself. I go through a lot of graph paper.

So yes please, I would love to have this. Thanks!

I have only designed quilts in my head or on paper. I would love to have this software to help me make my designs in a printable format and to be able to design even more and better quilts.

I would love to design my own quilt one day even though I am still learning. I love all your designs, newsletters and helpful suggestions. Keep up the great work!

I’ve followed your blog for some time and I’ve already learned a lot! There are so many patterns out there but being able to do one’s own design would be fabulous! Thank you for the chance to win EQ7. All the best from Germany, Anne

I have never designed a quilt, I’m still learning but what fun would that be to be able to design quilts with special meaning to people like a hiking trail or boats or animals ect.

Outside of playing around with graph paper and colored pencils and trying a few quilty apps, I’ve not done much I quilt design, but have been waiting with baited breath for something for a Mac! Yay! Thanks for a chance to win!

I have never designed a quilt of my own. I have no idea what I would start with, but would like to give it a try. Thanks for the chance to win the EQ7.

Wow! What a tremendous giveaway! I design all my own quilts as I never learned to leave “well-enough” alone! I will start with an idea or inspiration, sketch it out on graph paper, laboriously color it all in so I know exactly what it’s going to look like! Oh the fun I could have with EQ-7! Pick me! Pick me!

I have done a lot of quilting the old fashioned way but an totally inspired by modern quilting. Just replaced my PCM and would love this program!

I have never designed my own quilt before, but have lots of design ideas down on paper. My first design would probably be something with gradated colors … probably very geometric.

I have always followed someone else’s design. I would love to win this–I think I would like to design a masculine quilt for my son who recently went through a divorce and is now back to having a ‘bachelor pad’.

Being a Mac user you sometimes feel like a stepchild with software. I never thought I would try designing my own quilts because of this. It would be so fun to win the QE7 software and give designing a go worry free about getting the math or fabric selection right! Thanks for offering a terrific giveaway.

I have designed my own quilts–very basic. Nothing like I think I could do with this great software! So happy to hear it’s now in a version for Mac.

I have designed several quilts using Microsoft Excel – it’s clumsy and time consuming, but it works. EQ7 would make my life SO much easier!

I would LOVE to come into the EQ world. I design “on the fly” and that’s always been fun,
but to try things instantly — wow, would that bypass days, weeks, months of work!

I have not used any computer program to design (although I would love to) but I have drawn a design out on graph paper. I usually just follow someone else’s pattern and modify it to fit my needs.

Once in a while, I design a quilt, using paper and pencil. I’m sure I’d design many more if I had such helpful software! Thanks for the chance to win!

I have designed and created quilts for my grandchildren based on their sports, hobbies and interests. I’ve used graph paper and lots of colored pencils and would love to have the luxury of using EQ7 to make these ventures easier and more efficient.

I have never used this type of software to design; however I designed a small quilt that I am presently working on, at a quilt retreat!

  24. Wanda V. says:

I have been a quilter for 5 years and have designed the quilts that I have made for my grandchildren. I wanted to make each one as unique as the recipients. In most cases, they had a voice in determining the design, and each quilt reflected the personality of the grandchild for which it was made. I would LOVE to own a copy of the EQ7. I am sure that I would use it!

I have designed applique quilts before, but not pieced quilts; E-Quilt would be a fabulous tool to help with that!

I have done very basic drawings mostly to get measurements, but would to be able to use this program and see what I can come up with! Thanks so much for the opportunity.

I’ve designed a few, but I use the old school method of colouring in squares on graph paper. I suspect that I’d be a lot more adventurous using a software package. Thanks for the chance to win.

I have not created a pattern but am dieing to learn. I have enlarged an existing pattern but that’s about it.

I’ve not designed my own. I’d like to start with the EQ7 for my Mac! Glad to have this option. I’d like to make variations of different kinds of star quilts.

The first quilt I finished was, technically, designed by me, since it was a sampler and I chose all of the blocks I wanted to try out. It would be great to have a tool to visualize a pattern before you start!
