I knew it wouldn’t be long before I was able to offer another fabulous giveaway! This one is sponsored by my friends (really they are!) over at Electric Quilt. To celebrate the release of EQ7 for the Mac, they’ve generously decided to give away a copy to one of you – whoo hoo!

Don’t worry, this giveaway is actually open to everyone – if the winner is a PC owner, you can select the original version instead of the Mac version. No need to go buy a brand new computer just to run the software on (though that’s exactly what I did, LOL)! And if you prefer to have a downloadable version rather than a physical copy, that’s available, too!
Because I’m an existing EQ7 user, I only needed to get the migration kit to switch from a PC to a Mac. However, for those of you Mac users who have been patiently waiting for the stand-alone Mac version to be released, the time is now!
Here’s how to enter:
Just leave a comment below telling me if you’ve ever designed your own quilt before. Or if not, what you’d love to design if you could. This will be a short giveaway timerame, running through Monday, May 5th at 6PM Pacific time. I’ll email the winner and make an announcement on my blog next Tuesday, May 6th.
Good luck!

I have designed several quilts. A couple of them I have used photos printed on fabric. I love designing my own free form but have also used Apple Numbers to design. But would love to use EQ7 as Numbers is a bit rigid.
I have designed a backpack purse and a tote with applique seahorse but not a quilt yet. Designing a whole cloth is on my bucket list.
I’ve designed one quilt from scratch in the 80’s. It was the 2nd quilt I’d ever made. I was so proud of it. It was also the last quilt I made until we moved in 2001 and I joined a quilting group to make new friends, one of the best decisions of my life. Your post brought back many happy memories today.
I have designed some of my quilts – lap & baby sized. Thanks.
I’ve always designed my own quilts to a certain extent. I have not, however, used computer assist.
I have designed my own quilts. Nothing to complicated like I would be able to do with EQ7. Thank you for the awesome giveaway!
What a giveaway! I know what I want to quilt and I hate searching and searching for the pattern. Would love to make my own pattern
I would love to start designing quilts. Thanks for the giveaway
I’ve designed many quilts, usually with graph paper! LOL I did use QuiltSoft for a long time, but passed up that technology. I’m excited there’s a Mac version! Thanks for the great giveaway!
Oh how I would love to have a copy of EQ7 for mac. I have designed quilt tops on my mac using a database program of all things. It would be great to have a program made specifically for designing quilts. I looked into the EQ program many years ago but unfortunately it was windows only at that time. Thank for a great blog, so inspirational.
I have designed many quilts. As a matter of fact, almost all the quilts I make are self-designed!!! I use graph paper and coloured pencils, but it is just not enough!!! That doesn’t stop me from buying quilt books and mags though, ha ha ha!!!! I am a Mac user who has been impatiently waiting for EQ to make a Mac edition!!! Yay!!!
Occasionally I like to alter a pattern to conform to my preferences. Having this program would be so much easier than sketching on paper over and over again. I have a new MAC and would love to give this program a whirl!
I design quilts all the time…on paper, in my mind, and sometimes right there at my sewing machine! I’ve never used EQ7 tho. Wouldn’t that be fun!
I have never designed my own quilt before. Maybe I need to branch out a bit!
I have designed quilts before, and since I’m a Mac user, I have pages and pages of used graph paper to prove it. Soooooo happy EQ7 can now run on a Mac!!!
I have never designed a quilt before but would to design one for our bed in the master bedroom. We could really use some color in our room and it would be nice to sleep with something I designed and made.
I have designed my own quilt before. I did a row by row for a group as well as a couple of challenges for guild. It was fun!
I like traditional quilts, so I haven’t really designed. I would love to try, especially with an EQ library 🙂
Hi Christa! I’ve used EQ for a long time, maybe going back to the original release. But – I bought a MAC about a year and a half ago and miss it so much. So excited they finally released a MAC version. Thanks for hosting the give-away chance.
I like designing quilts. I Have EQ 6 but would love an upgrade.
I have always used graph paper, rule, and colored pencils to design my quilts. I would love to try EQ7. Thanks for the give away.
I usually design the quilts I make. It would be great to do it on the computer versus paper and pencil.
I have never designed a quilt but would love to give it a try! I have had my eye on EQ for years,, but it is out of my budget Thanks for the chance to win.
Love your work. You are so generous! Would love the chance to win the EQ7, and to try my hand at designing
Being a loyal Mac user it is exciting to see this version of EQ7 released. I’ve never designed a quilt but I’d love to give it a try! Thank you for offering this giveaway.
The EQ7 has been on my wish list for a long time. Would love to win. I do design quilts. I use graph paper, rulers and pencils. Thanks for a chance at the EQ7.
Thanks for the opportunity! I haven’t made a quilt of my own design yet… But I have a notebook full of ideas! Maybe EQ is just the kick I need to get it done!
I would loooove to own EQ7. I owned a previous version and had designed several quilts using the software. My previous computer died and I have not been able to retrieve all my files from it. I tried using my EQ disc on my new computer (which the info included with the software said you could do), but it keeps telling me that it can’t download it. So I’ve been bummed about that. Thanks for this great opportunity.
Gosh that really is a superb prize! How I’d love to win, especially since it’s my birthday month 🙂 and I’ve always lusted after being able to design using this tool instead of lots of scraps of paper with odd doodles on them.
I haven’t designed my own quilt but I do alter other designs. To do mine from scratch would be great. What a great giveaway. I’m happy to take part. Thankyou
oooh fantastic giveaway…..had my eye on EQ for years, really years, but out of my budget….so would love to win! i could design anything….LOL
I have never designed a quilt but would love to give it a try! Something modern would be awesome!
I haven’t done much designing, but would love to start. I just finished Farmer’s Wife and didn’t want to sew it together in the traditional setting, so I just started sewing it together with just an idea (sew, trim, rip, and sew again. Love how it turned out.
I’ve designed several quilts before, but always with graph paper and rulers. I’d love to move to the 21st century of quilting!
I have designed lots of quilts and would love to have the benefits of EQ7 to design even more spectacular quilts in the future. Thanks!
I love to design quilts, as I like to create my original ideas in fabric.
I have designed one quilt, Christa and actually it was the first quilt I ever pieced. Later that year I entered it in a show and won 2nd place! I actually drew it out on graph paper. Would love to win your generous offering of EQ-7. What a treat that would be!
I have designed quilts before but I would love a chance to try with EQ7 for my Mac!! So far, I have only used pencil and paper to design quilts. Thanks for the chance!
Have not designed my own quilt yet…if I am lucky enough to be chosen, it will be a quilt with a nod to modern. That’s where my heart is these days!
I designed quilts for my 3 daughters back in the 70’s using coloring books for the pictures to embroider. I also designed a few quilts for grandchildren. But usually I just make changes in a pattern to make it mine. I think it would be fun to be able to design quilts on the computer, and I would use it for all kinds of things.
I have designed quilts before, but using graph paper and colored pencils. This would be so much easier! Thanks for the chance to win!
I have not designed my own quilt before, but would love to. What a fun giveaway!
This would be great to have!! I took a pattern and enlarged it on graph paper. Thought I had it, after making sure lines matched and all. Went to sew it together , and the pieces didn’t match right. It turned out alright , I made a few adjustments. I have taken left over triangles and turned them into pinwheels. Made a table runner with them. Turned out really well. I have always wondered about the EQ7. It would be a great addition to my Quilting tools. Thank you for making this possible for us to try and win…
I haven’t designed a quilt before. I would love to design something to use big prints. I have several little girl prints I love, but can’t find a quilt design I like. What an awesome giveaway!!
Oh goodness! I have had my eye on EQ for a while! I’ve been designing quilts with graph paper and then scanning them into Inkscape, since it’s free, but I have been drooling over the quilting-specific tools in EQ! I also tried designing a quilt once using the Threadbias design tool, and I actually won a Viewer’s Choice honorable mention (and a free fat quarter bundle of the entire fabric line!). I’m trying to start up a pattern design business with mostly paper piecing patterns so far, but hopefully eventually large quilts as well, and winning EQ would do wonders for that without the otherwise necessary overhead. I hope I win, and thank you for the chance! kitty (dot) wilkin (at) gmail (dot) com
If only we could sew all the quilts we can draw!! I like to use patterns as well, but I often have a tough time sticking with the plans:-)
I haven’t designed my own quilts, Just changed things from other quilts, mainly the colors. I would love the chance to design my own quilts.
I love designing my own quilts, using lots of graph paper! It would be great to have a computer program!
I have never designedly own quilt. Honestly I’d be happy with something doing the quilt math for me to reside blocks! When I get a bit more experienced then I’d love to design my own
I have always been a Mac user and always disappointed that there was no software specifically for quilt design. Sure I could get more familiar with inDesign, but It does so much more than I really need for this. I would love to have this.
