Christmas Traditions

We have a fun tradition on my husband’s side of the family. My mother-in-law creates a themed scavenger hunt for us each year where we dress up and solve clues to find our grand finale of a present. She really goes all out, and I can’t wait until Christmas this year to see what she has cooked up. In the meantime, please enjoy pictures of some of our past Christmas antics:

What fun! It’s a lovely tradition. Ours is not as adventurous but we always play games after Christmas Dinner – usually charades which can be ‘challenging’ when 90 year old Aunt has her turn! Merry Christmas, Christa and all the best for 2015 🙂

That looks like so much fun! Our family always reads the Christmas story from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon on Christmas Eve. We do presents on Christmas morning, followed by a light breakfast of hot chocolate and something sweet, like cinnamon rolls.

OMG Christa, what a riot! I can’t begin to imagine the fun you and your family must experience, even before the big day, deciding how you will dress for the occasion, and probably making the costumes. Now, I can hardly wait to see what this year will bring, because, compared to your family, our Christmas consists of; EATING appetizers, spend time with everyone, EAT dinner, open gifts, play with the great grandchildren, and then, once again, EAT desert. The next day, the scale is avoided at all costs, and probably for the next week or so, until I think it’s safe to plant my feet on it and wait for the digital readout to come up with a number I can live with. From our family, to yours’, we wish you a very blessed and happy Merry Christmas, and a New Year filled with joy and good health.

I think we have a boring Christmas compared to you all. We just eat and unwrap presents, sit around and talk. This year we are making candles in the afternoon and that will be fun. I do wonder what you will do this coming year compared to the other years. Looks like a lot of fun to me.
