I like to use panels on my quilt backs to make them really interesting!
these fabrics would look beautiful in handmade shopping bags for my lovely friends.
These Laurel Burch panels are really special! I would set off each cat with scrappy, wonky log cabin borders, or another type of improv border, then use as a focal point for a bag of some sort, with linen or linen blend for some added texture. I would make sure to have enough cntrast to have tem reall shine. Possibly could work as a pillow too.

Laurel Burch panels like this make beautiful wall hangings for anyone who’s cat crazy…like my daughter. The fabrics also tie in well with Japanese style fabric, because of the gold accents. A Japanese Komebukuro [rice bag] using cut outs from the blue panel with sashiko style sashings would look awesome! Add pizzazz to any quilt by using a Laurel Burch gold accent coordinate [like the dots] instead of a plain solid.
I like to make shadow box quilts with panels like that.

I would love to use this in a quilt, mug rugs, in tote bags, small bags, etc.
I like using panels cut into blocks for lap quilts and baby quilts.
We have used panels in several ways for quilts — bordered for a table runner / wall hanging, cut up for (rooster and deer) quilts as border and blocks, cut in squares with each sashed for baby quilts, and fussy cut-outs for applique.
I had a panel that I cut up and used in a quilt. I like the idea of a wall hanging for my grand-daughter in her room or I would put part of the panel in a quilting frame and hang it on the wall. And making a pillow case is also a great idea. Thank you.
I usually cut them up and work around the panels or the opposite leave it whole and put borders around not very creative but honest .Thank-you for the give away chance.Becky

You could leave them as they and back it the FMQ all over or cut out each square and add extra borders to make a quilt.

I replied earlier but neglected to say what I have done with with Laurel Burch fabrics. The most outstanding is a panel that I used as a center for a Mary Ellen Hopkins design, her Baker’s Dozen pattern. I have had MANY compliments (most important from Mary Ellen herself). Other panels I have cut apart to fussy-cut in quilts. I truly love all of the Laurel Burch designs.
I like to either use the complete panel to make a wall hanging or use each section as the center. of a block for a quilt. I can see a foot warming funner for my sister in law in the blue cat panel, her favourite colour and animal.
I’m thinking that I could make some pillows out of those. Thay are so cute!!!
I love Laurel Burch and would cut those panels into sections, sew borders on each section, and make it into a quilt for my living room. It is such beautiful fabric!

My mother is a cat fanatic. She has a massive collection of cat figurines, pictures, books, you name it. She also has several live cats. I think this would make a great lap quilt for her.
What a generous giveaway! I am a huge Laurel Burch fan, and especially love her exuberant cats! If it were just about any other designer, I would say potholders, with a border of coordinating fabric. Yes, I would make potholders, but also coordinating mug rugs, and maybe even a deep apron pocket, with the apron made out of one of the coordinates for each side. Have a wonderful holiday!

I like to just put borders around a panel if I need a quick gift or I sometimes cut the panel apart and frame them and alternate them with patchwork. Thanks for the chance to win a panel.

My friend is a great Laurel Burch and cat fan, so I would probably make her a tote bag. I can also see it as a jacket lining. Imagine having a very somber jacket for the office, but having this fabric as the lining. Mmmmm, ideas are tumbling, might have to write this down 🙂
Panels can be a challenge to use. I like to cut them apart and sew strips around the designs. I also like to use them for tote bags and the backing of special quilts.

It is truly like being a kid in a candy store to be able to browse this array of Laurel Burch. I have several pieces, have used several pieces and always looking for more.

Last year I quilted a laurel bruch panel into a table runner for a Christmas gift. I outlined areas with stitching, added beads on eyes and trees, hand embroidered on different areas and embellished it all over. It came out beautiful and the person I gave it to loved it.

Funny… I was just looking at a Valentine’s panel last night and trying to figure out what to do with it! My thought was to buy some coordinating charm packs or a jelly roll to make a piano key border and some 4 patch units to offset the smaller blocks. I’m normally a pattern follower but it was kind of fun to map it out! I love Laurel Burch – thanks for a great giveaway.
I just made my first I Spy quilt usung a panel, it was so much fun!
I think I would make a quilt for my daughter. She loves cats. I would add a flying geese border to it using all the colors in the quilt.
I am a fairly new quilter, still with lots to learn, but I just finished a wall hanging from a panel, I added a border and some fancy machine stitching as well as quilting and it is great! I think these panels would make a super lap quilt, and I know just the person to give one too! I am really enjoying your blog, thanks!
