First of all, thanks to all of your sweet comments from last week’s giveaway. I love how generous everyone was by wanting to share the love rather than win the prize all for themselves. You guys really encourage me each and every day! Scroll down to the end for the winners.
And now for this week’s giveaway: one lucky reader will win a Moda Bella Solids Layer Cake in the Snow Color. I recently had to “borrow” one square of this layer cake. Since I couldn’t sell it with a missing piece, I decided it would be fun to give the remaining 41 squares to one of you!
So here are the details:
- Leave your comment below telling me what you like to do with Layer Cakes
- Giveaway is open to everyone near and far
- Winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday, February 19th at Noon PST
- Their name will be listed the following day along with the next giveaway
Last Week’s winners:
Congratulations to Becky R. and Avon B. who each won a charm pack.
Please visit my precut store to see all I have to offer. I really appreciate your support!
I would make wonky star quilt which is next on my (long) list!
woohooo thank you Christa for picking me as the winner!
Mostly just use them for quilting. Occasionally for bag making.
Layer cakes are so useful! I like cutting them up to piece blocks. 🙂
Thanks for the chance to win!! Awesome giveaway!
Last year I learned to make Layer Cake Lemonade. For Christmas, I made a baby quilt for a very special baby who was born last year while her Dad was deployed with my son. I shipped it to my daughter-in-law so she could wrap it and deliver the Christmas gift. I am making more. It’s addicting because it finishes fast.
I love that they are so versatile. You can use them whole for a fast quilt or cut them up!
I use them in a lot of different blocks, pieced or as a background for applique.
I have never used one, but would use it for a 3 or 4-color solid quilt.
Mmmm so many things – half square triangles! pinwheels, etc. Thank you for the chance for 41 squares!:)
I would use this with the Moda Soho Chic charm packs I just bought. I am looking to make a throw quilt. Thank you for the chance.
Cathedral window blocks with some prints in the middle would be great!
Just found your blog last night and am through a few of your tutorials. I have singed up as a follower of your blog. Great work and I love your details

Color block table runner to match my festive kitchen. 🙂
There are a couple of tutorials over at Missouri Star Quilts that I am dieing to make. I love layer cakes, and would love this one, even if it’s a square short!
This would be really useful. Thank you.
I would use it with other solid whites and neutrals as background for a big quilt!
I would use it for embroidery project as background.
I recently discovered a tutorial on the Missouri Quilt Company website, called “Disappearing Pinwheels” – watch out, because making these blocks / quilts can get addictive! I used up my last layer cake, so now I’m cutting my blocks from yardage…. and Kona Snow is my favourite white!
I never had a layer cake before. A solid white one like this would be great for embroidery blocks. Maybe something like redwork. Or they could be cut up to use as sashing for smaller blocks. Thanks for counting me in Christa!
Most of my quilts are “scrappy” so 10″ squares of fabric are ideal for me to work with. Don’t have too many solids in my “scrap box” and would love to give this layer cake a home!
I’ve never owned a layer cake to work with, but have seen quilts made from them…I think it would be nice to incorporate this into a quilt. Thank you.
I’m getting ready to start on the Layer Cake Sampler QAL with Material Girl Quilts this week. 🙂
I’ve never used layer cakes before, but would probably use it to make a lap or baby quilt.
Just to play!! I’m a relatively new quilter.. am using my first layer cake now for a free motion quilt class…. Thanks to YOU, I think I can quilt on my little machine 🙂 AND I DID!!
I love using layer cakes to make some quilt lap quilts.
I have a few projects — a few baby quilts, and I am starting the Farmers Wife quilt blocks…. I just love the ease of precut fabric though!
I’ve never used Layer Cakes before, but would love to try them. Maybe for a baby quilt.
I recently discovered pre-cuts and made a christmas quilt with a jelly roll. Have never used a layer cake but would love to win this so I can try !
I have a book of patterns for layer cakes, I enjoy the quilts and the ease of using the pre-cut fabrics.
I haven’t used Layer Cakes yet, but I would love to try them.
I would be able to pull together all my fabrics and make the quilts that are waiting to be created!
