First of all, thanks to all of your sweet comments from last week’s giveaway. I love how generous everyone was by wanting to share the love rather than win the prize all for themselves. You guys really encourage me each and every day! Scroll down to the end for the winners.
And now for this week’s giveaway: one lucky reader will win a Moda Bella Solids Layer Cake in the Snow Color. I recently had to “borrow” one square of this layer cake. Since I couldn’t sell it with a missing piece, I decided it would be fun to give the remaining 41 squares to one of you!
So here are the details:
- Leave your comment below telling me what you like to do with Layer Cakes
- Giveaway is open to everyone near and far
- Winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday, February 19th at Noon PST
- Their name will be listed the following day along with the next giveaway
Last Week’s winners:
Congratulations to Becky R. and Avon B. who each won a charm pack.

I would love to use a Layer Cake for half square triangles – I have my first one at home (Moda Tapestry – Fig Tree and Co) and would love the Bella Snow to match with them to make a Windmill Quilt! Thanks for the chance! Gill

I like to use Layer Cakes for pinwheels and disappearing four and nine patches, they’ve a really handy size for that. If I can’t find any other use, they make a lot of charms and small squares for my postage stamp quilt.
Thanks for the chance!
I need to make a quilt for my beautiful niece, (Princess) Secora. She is 4 months old.
Just what I need!! Kona snow is a go to solid and being cut into squares makes it so easy to use. Make HST with Family Tree by Moda.
So far, I’ve only used charms and jelly rolls, but I’m looking forward to moving on to layer cakes. Since I love the look of bright prints on a crisp white background, it would likely be used to make a special quilt for my mother-in-law.

I don’t know what I would do, but you can bet it will be used.

I like to use layer cakes to make simple quilts from a video tutorial available on Missouri Quilt Company. It makes a complicated looking quilt, but it is very easy. With this layer cake of Kona Snow I would use it with a charm square swap of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Thanks!
These would make a wonderful quilt.
Thanks,
Peggy
I don’t very often buy them. The last ones I purchased I made a ‘Chainsaw’ quilt!
I’m into cushions at the moment, so that’s what I would make, can’t have too many cushions. Dawne
Love layer cakes – so easy to pair with a print layer cake and make a great quilt! Thanks!
I love the manageability of a layer cake, so easy to use. As are all pre-cuts. Thanks for the chance to win.
I find all precuts really handy to make those last minute gifts for friends and family- in particular for friends who are going through chemo therapy. I prefer to make them quilts myself rather than go through Victoria’s quilts.
