Modern Quilt Guild Showcase at the International Quilt Festival

I was stoked when I found out that Quilt Market attendees could also see all the beautiful quilts on display for the International Quilt Festival which opens this weekend. I was able to take pictures of 32 quilts which were presented in the Modern Quilt Guild Showcase. I’m happy for you to save and share any of the images below – just be sure to credit me as the photographer along with the name of the quiltmaker. 🙂

I’m sorry that some of the pictures have tape and poles in front of them, and the lighting wasn’t the best. But I hope you enjoy the show!

Aren’t they beautiful?

I’ll do a complete quilt market wrap up this Thursday, including sharing the names of my market SWAG giveaway winners. I had enough loot to choose 3 people!!

Thank you, Christa, for sharing the exhibit with all of us! And congratulations for having *two* quilts in the showcase!!!! They were both fantastic, and I was especially excited to see “Spiraling Out of Control” in person–it’s one of my favorite modern quilts! Sorry I didn’t get to talk with you at Market, but we should definitely meet up in Austin if you are going to Quilt Con! 🙂

Congrats on your quilts at exhibit. Thanks for posting pic of my Off Center quilt. How fun is it to have our work at display with all these wonderful quilts at Houston – woo hoo!!! Can’t wait to see the whole show Thursday! Thanks to my friend Peggy for letting me know about your blog.

  3. Kristin Shields says:

Woohoo! Thank you for posting since I can’t be there to see mine and all the others. Looks like a fantastic exhibit!

  4. Linda H. says:

They’re beautiful, for sure! Congratulations, Christa, for having two quilts on display. You do marvelous modern work and I couldn’t be happier for you to have this honor. Thanks for sharing all the quilts. It’s neat to recognize several of the makers… though I think it would have been a good idea to have each quilter’s handle on the tag too. That’s such a great idea you made to the MQG! I hope they implement it for QuiltCon.

  5. Karen Thurn says:

I really liked your Modern X quilt. I also follow Amy Friend and it was fun to see her quilt in your picture line-up. They are all so wonderful and modern.

  6. Karen says:

Christa–Congratulations! Two quilts in the show and they are gorgeous!! Thanks so much for sharing all the photos–they are terrific inspiration (although they represent MANY more years of quilting than I have under my belt!). Wonderful eye candy!

  7. Debby says:

I rarely get to go to a quilt show, so thank you so much for sharing the photos with us. I enjoyed “attending”; it was fun. thanks again.

  8. Pat Sell says:

Thanx for the preview! I will be going to Houston on Thursday with a friend and am looking forward to seeing all these — especially yours!! Congratulations on being brave enough to enter your beautiful quilts! 🙂

  9. Jean Morton says:

Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful pictures. I have the always thought I was just a traditional quilter, love these new modern quilts, too!

  10. Peggy M. says:

Thanks for posting all of these great pictures. I was excited to see Off Center made by my friend and fellow guild member, Charlotte Noll! So exciting!

  11. Sue says:

Thanks for sharing, it was the next best thing to being there! 😃 it’s great to see all Modern quilts & not just a handful throughout a show. One day I’ll get to the States to see one of your amazing shows!! Thanks again 😀

  12. June @ QuiltQuest says:

Boy it makes a difference to go to a Modern Quilt show rather than a regular one where there are only a few examples of modern quilts. Thank you so much for sharing. Smart to keep track of the names of the quilts and quilters so you can share the photos. I need to remember to do that when I see quilts that I’m allowed to photograph.

    • Christa says:

I agree – it’s great to see so much modern all in one place. Whenever I take a picture of a quilt, I always take a second picture of the info card right after so I know which information belongs to which quilt!

  13. farmquilter says:

These quilts are all fabulous!!! Thank you for sharing all of them with us! Yep, I noticed your quilts in there too!!! 🙂
