Modern Quilts at My Local Guild’s Show

Quilt Las Vegas 2015

I’ve been a proud member of the Desert Quilters of Nevada for over 18 years now. I’ve participated in their quilt shows for nearly as long and was so pleased when they included a modern category in 2013 and 2014. They did the same thing again this year and I was really impressed with the quality of the quilts in all categories. For your viewing pleasure, I’ll share some of the modern quilts from the show and a few others that caught my eye. Enjoy!

There were over 230 quilts, accessories, clothing and dolls in the show, and it was quite a fiber feast for the eyes! My only critique of the show is that I wished all items from the same category could have been hung together, but I know they were limited on space and had to make do. I just love attending and participating in quilt shows. πŸ™‚

Now that we are full-swing into quilt show season, which shows will you be attending this year?

Fantastic group of quilts. I’m not a ” modern” quilter but I am really beginning to see the beauty and talent that goes into them. I tried to pick a favorite but they were all breathtaking. Please keep posting the wonderful pictures for those of us who aren’t able to attend theses shows. Seeing them really brings joy into my life and inspires me.

Your quilts are so beautiful and imaginative, Christa! I so enjoyed seeing them hanging in our local show this weekend. I also wish we had the space to hang an entire category together, but the show is so worth seeing, even so. πŸ™‚

What an amazing group of quilters you have there! And I thought yu were the only talented quilter there! πŸ™‚ I wish we had a guild here that wants to do something besides tear each other apart – like learn from each other! You must be so proud of your ribbons – look out or you are going to have to add a room to display all of them!! Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Thanks for sharing those quilts & congrats on the ribbons. I’m so excited to be going to Melbourne in April for the Australasian quilt convention. I can’t wait to see the exhibition plus all the vendors, I’ve been saving my money πŸ˜€
