So backing up a little, I first met Lilo when I was a guest on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. She’s used to working behind the scenes as a producer for the show but now I’m excited for her to be the star of the show with her new book and blog tour.

Love Your Creative Space is divided into My Stuff (we all have it!), My Space (tiny or large) and My System. It addresses the common needs of needlecrafters, but also covers many less common topics.
For example, how do you stay organized when you head out for a class or a retreat? How can or should your space be altered when life itself changes because of a move, an illness or just getting older? There are many ideas and suggestions, along with questions to help you analyze your own stuff, space and system.
I especially enjoyed the gallery of artist studios. One space has been adapted for its owner’s special needs after a stroke left her with partial paralysis. One space is especially compact. A third artist requires both dry and wet work spaces!
If you work in more than one medium, you’ll find ideas to organize, separate and combine your supplies. The book’s photography might even inspire you to try something new!
This book recognizes that budgets for creative spaces come in all sizes, and Lilo gives helpful advice for saving, economizing and reimagining or repurposing. It’s clear that she wants makers to love and enjoy their spaces regardless of the size or financial constraints. That’s a win!

I just move my space from a small, shared bedroom to the downstairs family room. So it’s a fairly large space. But there’s a fireplace in the way on one wall and another wall of windows. I’m having difficulties getting organized and feeling comfortable in the space. Maybe I could get some ideas !
My space is big but full and cluttered. I’m currently work on paring away sommes clutter and sewing faster!
I need a plan and then stick with it! So organization is must and this book sounds like the help I need. Thanks for participating in the giveaway!
I have the luxury of moving into a house with a bedroom dedicated to my crafting space. My sewing machine is out in the TV room so only cutting and pressing are done in my Sewing HQ! I would love to figure out the best way to use the closet. The sliding fold doors are not my favorite and I dream of having the batting housed in there, but it just hasn’t happened yet.
I need better organization for little embellishment items
I need to find a way to declutter and organize my sewing/ quilting space.With changes in my life, I have the opportunity to make substantial changes. Some guidance in how to approach it and more ideas like the photos you preview will be helpful.
I need to get my stuff more organized. It will make my space work better. But is it more fun to use my stuff than organize it:)
Quilting on the kitchen table keeps me in the middle of the action but also required lots of set-up and tear down time.Thinking the best place for sewing is combining TV viewing with sewing. That would required changing LR into that combined space. I need HELP with figuring out how to make this happen.
I would like to figure out more ways to get stuff UP and off the floor, whether that means hanging on the walls or putting on shelves in some fashion.
My sewing room has gotten out of control. My fabric is organized but projects, UFOs and notions need help. Looking forward to this book and ideas that will help make my room peaceful and organized.
Owning 16 vintage sewing machines adds an extra challenge when finding space for all of my quilting supplies.
My studio space is fairly small, so staying organized is essential! I started purging, and just finished going through my (too) large fabric stash and donating pieces/scraps I know I will never use. Now most of my stash is organized by color/solid or print and in labeled boxes in a cabinet. Still more things to go through, though.
I’d like to find a way of keeping small scraps together, and a way of storing large rulers templates and cutting mats. At present I’m forever moving them from one flat space to another.
I’m moving into a one bedroom apartment soon I’m trying to figure out best layout for my quilting stuff. I love your picture with tables I just saw. Where do you purchase the counter. Without paying too much.
I’d like to find a way to make my fabric and tools more accessible. I have a deep closet for storage, and I have to pull out stacks of fabric to get to the items in the back.
I have been rearranging my sewing room, again, for probably the 10th time since we moved here 1-1/2 years ago. I am sure I would do better with some of the info from this book. I would love to read it – and the drawing is on July 2nd – my birthday 🙂
