All I can say is wow! QuiltCon is as awesome as I thought it would be and more. The quilts, the friendly atmosphere, the lectures, classes and more are a dream come true. The show was so well organized that you could tell immediately which quilts were competing in each category. The ribbons are the cutest and most creative I’ve ever seen!
You can see pictures the rest of the quilts in Part 2 and Part 3.

Christa,
I have a favor to ask. Could you drop me an email. jgeringirre at yahoo dot com. Thanks!
Fantastic quilts. Time to get out of my box and have some fun! Very inspirational!
Hi Christa, thank you so much for posting the quilts! I wish I could have met you there.
I just wanted to clarify something on my bee quilt (Off the B.O.W.). It was compiled by me, but made in a group called Bee Liberated that celebrated quilt designs by Gwen Marston. It wasn’t from the Anchorage Guild. If you wouldn’t mind making that change, I’d appreciate it! I’d love for the bee members to get the credit. 🙂
Thanks for the clarification, Krista (great name!!) I will make those changes now.
Great pictures of great quilts. Thanks Christa.
You’re welcome – thanks for stopping by!
Christa,
Would it be okay to show your photos as a slide show at a guild meeting? Hands Across the Valley Quilt Guild has a program planned in June focussed on the Modern Quilt movement.
Thanks,

Fabulous to see the winning quilts – thanks so much. Congrats to everyone – especially our very own MQG pres Tina. Keep them coming.
oh I’m so glad you posted these – just awesome, especially for those of us who couldn’t attend. I shared on A Quilter’s Table fb page – ok?
Sure Debbie – that’s great!
Can I post your pic of the ribbons on a blog post linking over to this post? I think my readers would love seeing these quilts! Can’t wait for the next batch!
Yes, please do! That’s why I did this – so everyone could see and share 🙂 I will show the rest of them tomorrow.
Hmm, was at QuiltCon yesterday and didn’t see some of these….wonder where they were.
Angela, some of them were a little tricky to find and I didn’t see all of the ribbons right away, so I walked the aisles a couple of times to be thorough. Even so, there’s one I missed that I will have to go back and take a picture of. 🙂 The names of all the winners are posted on the MGQ blog so that was helpful.
Hi there! Thank you so much for posting all of these wonderful pictures!
Would you mind me borrowing your photo of Double Edged Love to post to my Facebook page? I’ve gotten several requests from people wanting to see closer shots so that they can see my quilting.
Unfortunately I lost all of my pictures of EVERY quilt I have quilted when my phone and computer both crashed on the same day. So I have none to share! And I couldn’t make it to QuiltCon. 😦
Anyway, let me know, and I hope you’re having a blast!
Absolutely Lisa! Your work is amazing! I am so sorry to hear that you lost your pictures. That must have been devastating. You can use the picture I have on this post and then I will take more pictures tomorrow at the show and email them to you personally.
Thank you all for your kind comments. The workmanship at this show in amazing!
Those quilts are amazing. Thanks for sharing.
They are WOW!! Thanks for taking us along with you to the show. :^D
Thank you for this! I’ve been WAITING for someone to post some of these!!! 🙂
Thanks Christa. Great to see a fascinating array of ideas.
Thanks Christa, I love that you shared with us that couldn’t go. It’s like being there for me. “Self-Studay” is awesome.
Thank you for posting these! I’ve been looking for winners’ info
Thanks for the eye candy! How did your quilt do? Any news on that?
Thanks Evelyn! While my quilt didn’t win a ribbon (I didn’t expect it to – I was just thrilled to see it hang), everyone who had a quilt in the show got a cute participation button that looked like a mini version of the ribbons – so that was pretty cool, too!
One more thank you for sharing your photos from the show … I moved from Austin 8 months ago and this week is the first time I’ve wished I was still living there 🙂
Oh, my! What can I say! Great picture taking and WOW and grats to all the quilters out there! Dream a Little Dream … wow! Thanks for sharing these. Darn, I wish I had been younger when I started this obsession!! So many quilts! So Little Time!
