I’m headed off to the trade show, the International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. Jason and I have a strategy for the show – he will be the planner, setting up appointments to meet with our vendors, organizing our budget for new precuts, and making sure we both eat and rest well.
It’s fun to meet up with “Sew”-lebrities at Quilt Market!
I’ll get to do the “fun” stuff – rub shoulders with quilting celebrities, meet up with online friends, and attend presentations from some of the top designers in the industry. Jason told me he’s perfectly happy to stay out of the limelight while attending to business, so together we’ll make a great team!
I’m sure I’ll pick up a bunch of freebies while I’m there, so I thought for this week’s giveaway, I’ll offer up a mystery bag full of market SWAG!! Be sure to follow me on instagram @christaquilts starting on Friday for some sneak peeks!
To enter, just leave a comment telling me what you would want to do if you attended market, or who’s new designer lines you’d love to see!
The giveaway will remain open through Monday, Oct. 27th at midnight Pacific Time. I’ll draw a winner’s name at random sometime Tuesday morning (after I’ve recovered from the trip) and will mention it on the blog later that day.
Have a happy quilting weekend!
I’d love to see the new Lotta Jansdotter fabrics coming out
I like having enough time at quilt shows to look at the quilts and visit the booths. At the San Diego show we are allowed to take photos of the quilts so it’s nice to remember things! I was only there for one day this year, but still had fun at the hand crank sewing machine booth making a mug rug! Next year I’ll go the first day so I can do more of the hands on experiences. It would be fun to meet you and to see your quilts in person! Thanks for the chance. (I’m still hoping to do the abacus quilt….)
I would visit as many booths as possible to see the all of the new fabric lines and patterns.
It’s on my bucket list to get to Quilt Market in Houston. I would use the opportunity to be inspired by all the creativity.
I’d be like a kid in a toy store and want to see and play with everything at once.
I would love to be able to go and take in all the wonderful quilt art 🙂
I’d take a lot of photos of the booths and displays.
Would love to attend all the presentations and can’t wait to see what Amy Butler is up to!

I’d love to see the Aurifil booth, Tula Pink, the fabrics of Bonnie & Camille, meet the celebs there and sneak their pictures (cause I’m too shy to approach!), Wishing you a wonderful time! Wear comfy shoes so you can take it alllllllllllllll in!
HI, I’d love to visit all my favorite designers! Imagine all of them in one place.so neat!
Thanks for sharing!
I would want to do and see everything.
I’d want to take in all the fun new lines (Bonnie & Camille would be my first stop)…and just keep wandering around 😉
It sounds like you have a great division of labor. I’m excited about Art Gallery’s new designer lines.
I would love to see the new fabric lines and the beautiful sample quilts, bags, etc. on display. The designer whose fabrics I’m especially interested in lately is Zen Chic.
I would love to see all the vendors of modern fabrics, modern quilts & books. It would be overwhelming but fun!
I have attended a market and cannot wait to go back to one – I loved Tula Pink’s presentation, she is so fun, and Julie Hermann was there as well. Another fun time was spent with Marti Mitchell, she is a very talented lady – it would be fun to meet up with the bloggers I follow – including yourself with whom I have “quilted along”.
I would wander around staring at all the wonderful new fabrics and patterns. And I would hope to meet some of the designers-any of them!
I went to Internations Quilt Market a couple of years ago, it was a total blast. So much to absorb. But a lot of hard work as well. Would be fun to go again, maybe next year.
Oh my gosh! I can’t even imagine attending Market!!! I think I would walk through quickly taking notes on places I would want to go back and spend time with places that I love! You have fun!!!
Thank you for the chance to win!!
I would just love to walk the show and absorb the quilty goodness. I am looking forward to Carolyn Friedlander’s new line and Bonnie and Camille’s new line.
I would love to go to all of the school house presentations by the designers! I’d also love to do all of the ho bobbing with the celebrities. How fun!!
I am a dreamer and I dream of owning a small business. I would drool and gain inspiration for just the Market alone! I will be going to the festival this year and am so looking forward to it!
I’d go with you. Jason’s organization skills would certainly be used up. I’d love to meet all the modern designers and definitely check out the Aurifil booth.
I just Love looking at quilts! Then looking for a bargain in the booths. I would like for you to say hello also!
How fun . . . I was lucky enough to go last year because one of my quilts was in the Modern Showcase. My favorite sew-lebrity moment was meeting Kaffe.
I would hope to have enough hours in the day to see all there is to see.
I think I would be overwhelmed! But, after the initial shock, I would just try to absorb as much inspiration as I possible could.
Oh, I think I would PROBABLY have a heart attack!! ;0) I don’t know if the ticker could handle that much in one place! I would LOVE to see Tula Pink, and Julie (Jaybird), and I would PROBABLY cry the first time I saw anyone that I recognized! (Yup I’m a crier!!)
Just looking at the pictures from market kicks my ADD into high gear! Haha I would love to see Lotta Jansdotter and Carolyn Friedlander’s new fabric lines. Have a blast at market!!!!
So many options, but I would definitely want to check out Aurifil, Cloud9, Moda, Riley Blake…
It would be so fun to see all the inspiring projects!!
I think I’d turn into a kid in the candy store if I showed up at quilt market and just be overwhelmed and not know where to start! Hope you have a great time!
I’m new to quilting (just over a year) so I’m still learning about the different designers. I think I would just take it all in and discover lots of new things I didn’t realize I needed before!
I would love to see Angela Walters and then pick up some Aurifil and anything designed by Zen Chic!
If I went to market I’d be overwhelmed I’m sure…new to the quilting world so I wouldn’t know what to do first. Thanks for the chance to win.
Having never been to market I think I would just walk up and down the aisles taking in everything. Have a wonderful trip!
Oh i’d simply wouldn’t have enough hours in the day. I’d want to see the new free spirit stuff, makower, moda and of course art gallery. Hope you have fun!!
It would be a toss up between Angela Walters and Jenny Beyer. I’m torn between traditional stars and modern wonderfulness.
