Giveaway Winners and Free Bonus Pattern
Today I’ll be notifying all of the winners via email for the giveaways I hosted on my blog. Each of the blog participants will also be notifying their winners over the next few days, or at the conclusion of their giveaway. But not to worry, if you didn’t receive an email notice, you can still click here to get the free Baby Geese Quilt Pattern. Think of it as Quilt #12 from the book!

Click here to get the free Baby Geese PDF Pattern – Bonus Quilt #12
Baby Geese is made from leftover scraps and “bonus triangles” – those leftovers when you trim off corner triangles. Because we couldn’t fit it in the book, my friends at Martingale have included it on their website as a bonus for anyone following the hop, or purchasing the book (the link to get the PDF is also included in the book.)
Win My Baby Geese Quilt!
And now for the most epic giveaway, one lucky reader (from the US) will actually win this quilt! It measures 43″ x 54″, perfect for a baby gift or lap quilt. Although I love all my quilts and am a little sad whenever I give any of them away, I’d be even happier knowing it went to a good home!

The giveaway is tied in with my next big announcement below, so keep reading!!

I love it when quilts get used – for a picnic on the grass, or for cuddling up!!
Help Me Choose a Quilt for My Next Quilt Along!
And now, for the most fun news, let’s make a quilt together! It’s been awhile since my last quilt-along where I guided you through the complete quilt from start to finish. So don’t you think it’s time for another one?
I want to remake one of the quilts from my book, using my new Modern Marks fabric which will be available in November. You’ll need to purchase a copy of the book to quilt along, but of course you can choose your own fabrics, and change it up however you like.
I’ll be working with my new Modern Marks collection from Benartex. I’ll offer bundles & quilt-along kits for pre-order soon, just in case you want to use the same fabrics as me.
Now here’s where I need your help. Please answer these questions in the comments below and I’ll choose one of the answers at random to win the Baby Geese quilt mentioned above! Of course, there’s never any obligation to quit along, and you are welcome to follow along and not even make the quilt! (Or you can pretend to make it virtually in your head!!) But this will help me get started planning the quilt along.
- Which of the four quilts below would you like to make along with me? I’m showing them mocked up in Modern Marks, but you can make it in any fabrics you like, of course!
- Would you rather start the quilt along in November (when the fabric hits the stores), or in January so we don’t have to worry about running into the holidays? I’m thinking it would be more practical to do it in January, but wanted to give you all the option to choose.
Whichever quilt and time frame gets the most votes (by commenting on THIS post) is the one I’ll choose for the QAL. I’ll leave the giveaway open for a full week (through next Thursday, Sept 7th) so you have enough time to choose. And feel free to share this blog post with your friends, so they can get in on the fun, too!
Which of the 4 Quilts Below Should We Make?
(1) Squiggles

This is the version from the book, made from 5″ or 10″ squares.

This is the version recolored in EQ7 using swatches of Modern Marks
(2) Gridwork

Gridwork is made from one Layer Cake (10″ squares) and one Charm Pack (5″ squares)

Gridwork recolored in Modern Marks
(3) Dot’N’Dash

Dot n Dash from the book (above) – calls for 2 jelly rolls: 1 print, 1 background

Dot-n-Dash recolored with Modern Marks and Scrappy low volume backgrounds
(4) Arrows

Arrows from the book with a scrappy background – it require a specialty ruler so keep that in mind when you choose which one you’d like to vote for the QAL.

Arrows with all one background. Which do you like better: red, navy, cream, or aqua?
Whew! I know that’s a lot of information for one post but I wanted to end this party with a fun celebration, just like it began. Thanks so much for following along, and be sure to keep in touch when you are making any of the quilts from the book. I’d love to cheer you on!
I’d like to do Dots, and Dash in your fabric in January
I’d love to make the Squiggles quilt!! I’m up to my eyeballs making quilts and gifts for Christmas so January would work best for me. I LOVE the new bright line of fabrics! Those are MY colors, for sure!! ❤️
My favorite is the Dot ‘n Dash pattern and a January start date.
I vote for Squiggles and to start in January. I will be purchasing your fabrics.
I vote for the Arrows quilt. January would be perfect to start a quilt along.
I think Gridwork would showcase your fabrics the best. Scrappy Baby Geese is awesome.
Oh, and a January start is a great idea.
Just to be different I would like to make Gridwork. It shows off a lot of the fabrics in a larger “Chunk”. Let’s start the year off well, with a fun new project.
I love all the quilts, but I vote for Squiggles. A January start works for me. Can’t wait to buy the Modern Marks fabrics, just my style!
I’m
going with gridlock and starting in January. But I really am looking forward to making the spools quilt.
I like #3 best but any of the quilts would be fun… I would be working strictly out of my stash so it would probably look more traditional that the other quilts here… My stash is big enough that I can quilt for the next 30 years and not reach the end of it.
I am pretty much with everyone … JANUARY would be best for a quilt along… I usually follow BONNIE HUNTER in November for her MYSTERY QUILT ALONG.

I think Squiggles would be a fun quilt – and starting in January would be fantastic!
I like Squiggles and Start in January. Busy sewing for Christmas.
I like Arrows in navy. The bright contrast is stunning and I like love navy. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love Squiggles as I have bins of charms in my stash. January is the best date to start fresh for the new year. Your new fabric looks marvelous, and of course I’ll have to buy some. 🙂
I like dots and dash. Would love to use up some of my jelly rolls. I’d like to begin in January. Thanks!
I am enjoying all of your quilts, but grid work is my pick to quilt along and anytime, because I would like to start soon.
Thanks so much

I’d love to see Squiggles as your next QAL! I admire that design every time I see it. I’d prefer to start in January after the holidays and when I’m snowed inside.
I also vote for Gridwork starting in January. The bundles and book make for a tidy Christmas present! Plus, I work retail and am buried from October thru first week of January. I will be READY for the break and wanting to sew and quilt for myself!
I have enjoyed this so much. I like your quilts and also how your quilting friends did theirs and shared the process with us. I hope to make a Sqiggles soon. Looking forward to your class at Road2CA!
I vote for Squiggles in January. I had already picked that one for my next quilt and am gathering my supplies. Love the book and had a hard time choosing my next quilt.
I love all these quilts, but I’m really drawn to quilts similar to Dot-n-Dash right now. January would be better, I might actually be able to keep up! This is a beautiful book!
Start in January with Gridwork and just keep going through them all. They all have great potential. Such bright and cheery fabrics.
squiggles, you always have great ideas
I like Gridwork or Arrows and would want to start in January!
I’d like to start in January- I have so many gifts to sew for the holidays!
I love the Squiggles in the new fabric!
I pick Grid Work and January seems to be the most popular start date.
Hi Christa, I would prefer Squiggles in January, then I have the leftovers to make Baby Geese! Win win here!
I have thoroughly enjoyed your blog hop and am onboard for a QAL. My voted is for Gridwork in January! Love, love, love this book!

Squiggles is so fun, and will be gorgeous in the new Modern Marks collection! I’d have to choose January as the holidays can get hectic!
I vote for Dot-n-Dash in January please!
Squiggles and start in January. These are beautiful colors!
I choose Gridwork. It would look great in many different fabric combinations. Thanks.
Dot-n-Dash for sure! January seems like the perfect time to start a new project! Thanks for the chance to win your lovely quilt. 🙂
Dot’n’Dash, January! (Wouldn’t it be fun to turn those dots and dashes into a Morse Code message!?)
I’m enjoying all of your quilts. I would like to make them all. But, for a while I’ve been wanting to make The Dot n Dash quilt!!! I will do it first. Then the spool quilt!!
Thanks Christa!
I vote for Gridwork and January would be my choice for a start date.
I love the arrows! And agree with the others that January would be a good time to start! Congrats on your 3rd book and I do hope you can take a well-deserved break! And thanks for the free pattern and give away!
Squiggles in January. Wondering how interesting this would be as a quilt along though. Aren’t all the blocks the same? Love the new fabric line.
Great question! In all of my quilt alongs the blocks have been the same and folks love it because they can practice their piecing as well as their quilting. The QAL will include all steps of making a quilt – cutting, piecing, basting, quilting and binding. There will be tons to learn and practice, so you won’t bet bored!
My vote is for Squiggles with Gridwork as a close second. I think January would be the perfect time to start this QAL.

I would love to see the squiggles and those colors would look amazing! I say January, get the busy time of year out of the way (and who knows, maybe people get fabric as a gift from somebody)
I like them all! Gridwork would be my first choice.
I really love arrows but don’t know if I have ruler which would make a difference. Second choice is Squiggles since I have a lot of precuts.
January would be better.
Arrows. Don’t care when.
Excited!! Squiggles and after the New Year for a new project!
I vote for Squiggles and start in January
