I have two quick things I’d like to share!
First, I found out this week that my blog is one of the finalists in the National Quilter’s Circle blogger awards. Thanks you guys for nominating me – that makes a girl feel so great!! Click here to check out all of the finalists and vote for your favorites in all 4 categories. 🙂
Second, I just got word that my quilt, Modern Logs won a 2nd place ribbon in the modern category at HMQS (the Home Machine Quilting Show in Salt Lake City, UT). It’s an amazing show full of very stiff competition!! I have entered quilts in that show now for the last three years and attended in person the last two times. Of course, it’s one of the ironies of life that the year I am unable to attend the awards ceremony is the year I receive recognition. 😉 I have a running joke around here that I only get ribbons at the big shows I don’t attend, LOL!!

HMQS was such fun! It was great to see some of my friends’ quilts with ribbons attached. Particularly yours and Vicki’s.
Woot woot! I’m on plan for my half marathon training. And the boss gave us Twins tickets for Thursday’s day game. We got to walk around the field after the game (and the Twins won!).
You go girl.. That quilt is so neat it should have won. I went to the voting site and voted for my favorites. I wish nothing but the best for all involved. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I’ve had HMQS on my bucket list of shows I want to attend for ages. That’s what I get for just not going! They did Face-time me into the awards ceremony (like that isn’t a pretty strong clue that I have a big award?!), but it’s not the same as being there.

Congratulations! Today we are celebrating the marriage of my hubby’s niece who was the flower girl in our wedding. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago, but it will be 25 years in August!

A friend from church had a stroke on Monday. The good news is that she was given clot-busting drugs in time and she has no after effects! Modern medicine is great!
I’m so happy that you have been getting great recognition for your quilts, when you work hard, you get recognition. My good news is that I finally am taking 2 of your classes at the Christmas goose, one in May and one in June, and I’m very excited about it. I’m also excited about my microwave cozi’s that I sell at the Purple Monkey on Water street in Henderson, They are selling well, and it feels good to know that. On the class for the Charming Chevrons, can I add more squares to it to make it somewhere between the Lap and the Throw? Thanks!

My good news: winning a third place ribbon in Paducah and a first place at HMQS! Two different quilts! Didn’t get to go to either of the awards ceremonies! So I feel your quilts pain!!

Good news: There is a new sewing shop in the village. I went to check it out this week and we got talking. The owner asked me to do some teaching or a workshop there!
Good news: I had a fantastic day yesterday: a friend and I went walking in the beautiful valley ( still sore from that… Very hilly! ) we grabbed lunch at a great restaurant and went shopping in a second hand shop! Just fantastic!!! When I got home I was also able to finish a long overdue commissioned pillow. Just a perfect day!

Hip hip hooray for you ;0) that is great news. My news isn’t quilty hehe but it does pertain to the weekend. I’m a first time grandma as of a month ago. The new momma and baby are here/home for the weekend. Yay for both of us lol. Congratulations! Sarah
Going to an annual Mothers Day tea tomorrow with some of my quilting friends at a favorite quilt store of ours. The gal that owns the shop decorates the tables, makes all these homemade desserts and always has a speaker. Great fun.
